Sometimes, the most unexpected recipes end up being the MVP of the party! Game day parties are fun and entertaining in many ways. While the focus is on the live game, mouths don’t stop munching on the delicious food that is laid out. For any such party, the food served is really its USP. If you have something appetizing on the plate, then it will disappear within seconds and that my friend is a sign of being a good host who serves great food!
For us, no big game is enjoyed to the fullest unless these Chickpea Masala Sliders are served! It has been a tradition for the last four years now. For every big game, we friends get together for a potluck. While most of us enjoy the game, there are some who come just for the food and KR is one of them. One is literally spoilt for choices with the wide spread of sliders and finger food served that day. The first time I was part of this potluck, I had decided to make these Chickpea Masala Sliders suggested by KR. Since game-day get-togethers were a new concept for me, I was not sure what to cook for potluck. KR suggested that finger foods and sliders are an instant hit for such occasions. Thankfully I listened to his suggestion and prepared these sliders which since then have become a hit.

The buns are soft and fresh to taste. The recipe to make the chickpea masala patty is really easy to make. In a bowl, add boiled chickpeas, chopped onions, minced garlic, ginger and jalapenos, turmeric powder, garam masala, amchur powder, dhania jeera powder, chana masala powder, lemon juice, salt and chopped cilantro. Then add sriracha and bread crumbs. Mash the chickpeas and mix it all together. Shape them as patty and shallow fry them evenly on both sides. Once the patty is ready, prepare the sliders. Lightly warm the Pepperidge Farm Golden Potato Slider Buns. Spread chutney evenly on both sides of the bun, place a slice of tomato on it followed by the chickpea masala patty, then an onion slice and a cheese slice.
Serve them warm with ketchup/chutney. Chickpea Masala Sliders are ready to entertain your guests! Little Buns, Big Win!
