Would you believe me if I said that these are not potato fries? They are what I call Bread crust fries and the best thing is that they are baked, not fried! Some days ago, I shared a pet peeve on my Insta Story where I spoke about how certain recipes call for 1/4 or 1/2 a tin of condensed milk, and then I have to figure out a way to store the remaining. I had not expected that many responses to this story. There were so many who wrote back saying that they too feel the same way. Some even shared their pet peeves with me and they were so entertaining. Let me share with you some of my favorite responses - Calling something "Asian style" as though all Asian cuisines were similar from India to Japan, Calling food "Thai-Style" simply by adding peanuts, the word foodie is like nails to a cheese board for me, Mine is when salads are put in a container just big enough to hold them. No room for mixing it up, The watery bit of ketchup, When I microwave food, too often the bowl is BURNING HOT, but the food itself is still barely warmer than it was when I took it out of the fridge When a burger is like obnoxiously too tall. I mean, I appreciate that they packed a lot of food in there, but how the hell am I supposed to even fit that in my mouth?

It was so much fun that day reading all these responses. We all have such pet peeves and if yours is as interesting as the ones you just read here, please leave a comment below and share with all of us. One of my dear friends also responded to my story and shared her pet peeve. She told me how much she hates throwing away the bread crust when any recipe calls for bread without the crust. She jokingly suggested that I should create some recipe using these leftover bread crusts and share with her. This got me thinking. Normally I use these crusts to make breadcrumbs which is one great way to use leftover bread crusts. But I wanted to think of some creative another way to use them. Whatever is the case, I would never ever recommend throwing them away. Creating something new from leftovers is one of my things. I thoroughly enjoy the process and the look on KR's face when I tell him what the dish is made of. I aim for zero wastage in my kitchen and succeed in doing so most of the time. Making these fries using leftover bread crusts was seriously so much fun that I am sure you will love it too.

We use bread in our day to day diet very often. Over the years, it truly has become a staple in every kitchen. Either you make the bread at home or buy it, either it's white or brown, you will always have a place for bread on your dining table. Bread can be served as a side to Chickpea Stir Fry/Tawa Chole or Kidney Beans Indian Stew/Rajma Masala With Spinach or you can make interesting snacks with it like these - Baked Bread & Chutney Rolls, Bread Upma and Garlic & Breadcrumbs Pasta Salad. There is a whole list of recipes you can make with leftover bread is another story altogether. Bread be it old or fresh, can always be used in some form or the other. If you cook with bread all the time, I am sure you will be coming across recipes that ask only for slices without the crusts. I would suggest to collect all those cut bread crusts and use it to prepare these lip-smacking fries. This simplicity of this dish blows my mind.

I saw a similar recipe on Nagi's blog and fell in love with it instantly. I decided to give a spin-off to this recipe with my flavors and spices. Thus, Crispy Bread Crust Parmesan Baked Fries was created. Now let me take you through the process. Preheat the oven to 360 degrees F. Meanwhile, in a baking dish, add the bread crusts, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cumin powder, chaat masala, amchur powder, dried herbs, salt, and Parmesan cheese. Drizzle olive oil over it and lightly toss them so that the spices coat well on the bread. Place them in the oven and bake for 8-20 minutes. Check the bread and once it's crispy, take it out. Allow it to cool a bit and if you want, sprinkle additional chaat masala on top and toss it. Serve them along with any soup, salad, as a side with any dish or

To make it vegan, swap Parmesan cheese with nutritional yeast or vegan Parmesan cheese.
