Some milkshakes supersede all others and Cherry Vanilla Protein Shake is one such! Being a vegetarian, I am always on the lookout for protein rich meals. Making colorful breakfast smoothies part of the search. I mean, I love waking up to a bright, colorful healthy shake like Blueberry Milkshake or this one. Am a fan of juicing as well. You can check Honeydew & Orange Chiller Drink, Mango Orange Sunrise, Spiked Plums & Strawberries Juice or Watermelon Margarita Slush.
Mornings are crazy as we all very well know. It’s always a rush, too many things are happening at the same time plus you need to pack lunches and make breakfast. That is quite a feat. So I prefer quick-on-the-go breakfasts. Be it smoothies or something like Rawa Paniyaram in Appe Pan or Oats and Flax Seed Idli which are super easy and quick to prepare. Everybody loves such a breakfast. Its hearty, nutritious and looks palatable tempting everyone to dig in.
The beauty of these milkshakes are that they can also be served as a dessert drink. It’s all about looking after your guests as well. I have used cherries keeping Valentine’s day in mind. It’s a perfect way to start the day of love with your loved one toasting over Cherry Vanilla Protein Shake. Yes, that’s a possible dream..right? 🙂 At least I know what we will be having for breakfast that day..
Pit the cherries and chop them. Add them in a blender along with vanilla essence, greek yogurt, milk and honey. Add protein powder if you wish. Whip it to make a smooth smoothie. Smooth smoothie..right..that sounds oddly good! 😉 Strain if necessary. I did not strain it.
Cherry Vanilla Protein Shake
- 1 cup pitted and chopped cherries 8-10 nos
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 2 tbsp honey
- 170 gms of Fage 0% yogurt
- Pit the cherries and chop them. Add them in a blender along with vanilla essence, greek yogurt, milk and honey. Add protein powder if you wish. Whip it to make a smooth smoothie.
Omit yogurt and just add more milk to make a thin shake
Use flavored yogurt if you need
Use any yogurt of greek yogurt is not available
Try different fruits to make similar smoothies
Add protein powder to increase the nutritional value of the drink.
If you are in mood, top it up with some cream, decorate it with more cherries and serve. I wish I had done that and taken a picture as well. There is always a next time, considering that this shake is going to be a regular feature in my kitchen. I would love to make cherry pops next time.
