Ice Cream milkshakes are common and popular across all ages. But I had never made/had an Ice Cream Smoothie! Just the thought of it livened me up. It was a lazy Wednesday morning and I was not feeling like getting out of the bed. The warm and cozy blanket was more tempting than this cold Florida day (Yes, we get winters too!) KR was getting ready for work and he kept calling out to me to get out of bed. I was not budging. KR had made himself his Banana Smoothie and was about to leave, when I finally got out of my bed and went downstairs.
He wanted to know what I was having for breakfast and replied with a shrug. I did not feel like eating anything nor cook anything. It was just one of those lazy days in my calendar. KR even sweetly offered to make me breakfast which I denied as I knew he was getting late for work. Once he left, I sunk in to my orange chaise and started to think of some dish that I could eat/drink now. I knew I had some leftover Coconut Berry Yogurt Ice Cream but that didn’t lure me enough, until a thought struck! Why not add this ice cream into my morning smoothie and make myself a hearty breakfast?!
Pour in serving glass and serve chilled. The best thing about using this ice cream in the smoothie is that, it is already a healthy one made using yogurt, coconut and berries. This ice cream smoothie can be enjoyed for breakfast, as a dessert drink or as a milkshake. The protein powder and chia seeds gives it the extra nutritious boost that makes it a healthy smoothie.
This drink totally woke me up. I was all charged for the day and now I can only enjoy this ice cream in the form of a thick and creamy smoothie! Such is the effect of this cool and refreshing drink. Now you can substitute it with any available ice cream and whip yourself a delicious drink. This drink can also be made vegan by using appropriate ingredients.
- 2 scoops of Yogurt Berry Coconut Ice Cream
- 1 cup milk
- 2 scoops of protein powder
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- In a blender, add milk, protein powder, ice cream scoops, honey and chia seeds. Blitz to make a thick smoothie.
- Store ice cream in ice cube tray and use it as required.
- This drink can be made with any ice cream.
Drinks like these really make mornings worthwhile. I enjoy a delicious smoothie for breakfast for many reasons. They are easy to prepare and yummy to taste. A hassle free meal on a busy morning is the way I would like to start a day.
