Roasted Strawberry & Coconut Milkshake is a cool lip smacking milkshake to satisfy your midnight craving! An unusual drink recipe to tantalize your senses!
Milkshakes and smoothies have become my new favorite! I am blown away by the fact that one can do so many variations with it. It really pushes the envelope and makes you innovate every time you set yourself out to make a milkshake! I think there is a very thin line between a milkshake and smoothie. Smoothie gives you a very breakfast feel whereas milkshake spells dessert! It has to be more creamier and richer than a smoothie (for me at least).
I enjoy watching cookery shows across the globe. You never know when and where you will find your inspiration. In one of the shows, I saw the chef grill strawberries which was something I had never thought of doing. I was intrigued about the flavor and surely wanted to try it out for myself. Now what would grilled strawberries pair best with? Coconut maybe? Since I was doing this process the first time, I wanted to create a milkshake recipe pairing grilled strawberries and toasted coconut!
I have kept the recipe simple. First we need to add the pitted strawberries in a bowl and mix it with honey and melted butter. Toss them together and bake in a pre heated oven at 400 degree F for 25 minutes. Then dry roast unsweetened desiccated coconut flakes till they turn golden. In a blender, add milk, strawberries, coconut flakes and ice cream. Blitz to make a smooth and creamy milkshake. Watch the video below for the detailed recipe process. Roasted Strawberry and Coconut Milkshake is best served chilled. Top it with some more ice cream because why not! Add a dollop of strawberry jam over it and sprinkle some toasted coconut flakes. Make it as if you really deserve this treat and then sit back and enjoy the shake. Love the toasty flavor in this drink. Coconut and strawberries surely make a great combo and you must try it out soon.
