TEFF PATTIES

First, cook the chickpeas in advance or used canned  chickpeas.

Cook the TVP granules and Teff grains according to package instructions.

Mash the chickpeas in a large bowl with a fork. Next, add the cooked Teff grains.

Add the TVP granules to the bowl.

Next, add chopped onions and cilantro, minced ginger, garlic, and green chillies as well.

Next, add the spices: turmeric powder, chilly powder, cumin seeds, coriander powder, garam masala, salt, and two tablespoons of breadcrumbs.

Mix the ingredients well until a dough is formed.

Divide into 8 balls and shape the balls as tikkis or patties. You can also give them any other shape.

Place half a cashew in the center of the patties. Coat them in breadcrumbs, then chill in refrigerator.

Heat a skillet or tawa. Shallow fry them all in oil till they turn golden brown on both sides.

Serve with chutney or ketchup! You will love this teff patties recipe.
