Carrot & Oats Dosa/Crepes

Carrot & Oats Dosa/Crepes is an instant dosa recipe. No fermentation required and brown rice is used to make the batter. A nutritious South Indian breakfast!

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 carrots
  • 1 cup brown rice
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup urad dal
  • Pinch of asafoetida
  • 4-5 dried red chillies
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil as required

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Peel the carrots and chop them roughly. Soak brown rice, oats and urad dal for 30 minutes. Strain the water and add them all to a mixer grinder along with the carrots.
  • Add dried red chillies, salt and asafoetida to it. Blitz to a smooth paste by adding enough water to give it a batter consistency. Now this is instant dosa, therefore you can begin to prepare the dosa immediately. Heat a non stick tawa, pour a laddle full of batter and shape it like a pancake.
  • Apply oil on all sides and cook both sides evenly. Serve with Amla Thokku/Chutney/Sambhar.
