Firstly, boil tur dal and moong dal with slit green chillies, salt and turmeric powder in a pressure cooker. Let it cool down. Meanwhile, heat ghee in a pan. Temper mustard and cumin seeds. Then add and fry minced garlic, ginger and green chillies. Also add curry leaves and saute them for a minute or two, till the raw smell goes away. Then add onions and saute for 2 minutes till the onions turn translucent.
Next add the tomatoes and salt. Cook till the tomatoes are all soft and mushy. Then add the spinach, turmeric powder and chilly powder. Mix and cook for a minute. Lastly add the cooked dal/lentils. Mix it all together. Bring the mixture to one boil and then take it off the flame.
Garnish with cilantro and ghee. Lasooni Dal Palak/Lentils Soup with Spinach & Garlic is ready to be served and it looks inviting! Serve it with plain white rice or you can even enjoy this as a thick soup.
