Delectable 6-Ingredient Apple & Pistachio Mousse

Whip up this delicious instant mousse with apples, pistachios & cream cheese! It's simply an irresistible holiday dessert made using just few ingredients.

Servings 6 glasses


  • 2 apples
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 16 oz cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp kesar pista powder optional
  • 16 oz sour cream
  • 3-4 tbsp pista
  • 1 tsp saffron strands


  • First step is to wash the apples well and scrape off the wax on them with a knife. Chop them finely using a chopper.
  • Transfer it to a bowl and add lemon juice to it. Let the apples rest in there till you prepare the mousse.
  • In another mixing bowl, add softened cream cheese along with sugar.
  • Then add Kesar Pista powder and lite sour cream.
  • Using a hand blender, beat the mixture till light and creamy.
  • Then strain the apples and add them to this bowl. Add chopped pistachios and the fold in the mixture.
  • Portion into small bowls or glass jars. Place them into the refrigerator and allow it to chill for 2 hours.
  • Before serving, garnish it with some chopped apples, saffron strands and chopped pistachios.


Wash the apples well and scrape off the wax on them with a knife before using it. 
If kesar pista powder is unavailable, you can skip that step.
