    Air Fryer is an asset

I think after an Instant Pot, an Air Fryer is definitely an asset to my kitchen. Ever since I saw so many trending recipes made in the Air Fryer, I wanted to get one.

We recently got a Kalorik Maxx Air Fryer Oven Grill. It looks gorgeous on the counter, is functional, and is very easy to use.

    Trending now

Ever since we got it, we have made Air Fried Parmesan Potato Fingers, Croutons, Green Beans, Garlic Naan, grilled veggies, and Tater Tots in it. They all have turned out great.

No wonder air fryers have become one of the latest indispensable appliances and are now a staple in many home kitchens. I am totally loving it!

Why cook in an Air Fryer

When you air fry food, it cooks a little faster, distributes heat more evenly, and is a better option than deep-frying or pan-frying.

Air frying is healthier than frying in oil because it cuts calories by 70% to 80% and uses a lot less fat. All this without compromising too much on the final taste of the recipe.

I now prefer cooking in Air Fryer over the oven because it's much faster. I love the fact that there is no preheating required, it's more energy-efficient and easy to clean up.

Now that I have one, you will surely be seeing many more recipes in here with air fryer. Keep watching this space for more!

    Crispy Green Beans!

Green beans are good for us

Green beans are actually a staple in many cuisines including Indian. They are also known as French beans or string beans.

They are rich in vitamins, fiber, minerals, and protein. They contain no cholesterol and are low in sodium.

I never thought I would ever enjoy eating green beans this way! I had seen it in food magazines and restaurants, but have never attempted to try it myself.

Let's just say, I was not a fan of green beans. But I do enjoy Paruppu Usli, Potato Green Beans Gravy, and Sesame Green Beans Stir Fry occasionally.

KR made these in our new air fryer. For a hard-core French Fries lover to say that these green bean chips can give French Fries a run for their money is something, right?

    Why make this

This addictive and crunchy green bean chips recipe is very customizable depending on what spices and ingredients you have in your kitchen.

If you are new to Air Fryer, then I feel this is one of the perfect recipes for beginners. It's simple and easy. Plus you can easily double or triple the recipe.

    Ingredients needed

all the ingredients needed to make Air Fried Green Beans placed on a tray with labels on them
    Basic pantry ingredients are needed!

Green Beans - I prefer using fresh green beans but you can also use frozen/canned beans. When shopping, look for green beans that are bright green and unblemished.

They shouldn’t be flimsy or limp. In fact, they should snap when broken in half.

Spices and seasonings - garlic, red pepper flakes, onion powder, sesame seeds, breadcrumbs, white wine vinegar, and coconut aminos or soy sauce are needed.

Also, use vegan Parmesan or nutritional yeast. Besides these ingredients, you will need an Air Fryer for this recipe. This recipe will work with any model.

    Here's how to make it

    So easy to make!

There is no need to soak the green beans before cooking them. Just wash and dry them, then trim both ends.

    • Add the green beans to a bowl or a container.
    • Drizzle olive oil, red pepper flakes, white wine vinegar and coconut aminos.
    • Add the sliced garlic, onion powder, and sesame seeds.
    • Then add salt, breadcrumbs, and Parmesan cheese. Toss them all together.
      • Transfer the green beans to the air fryer basket and arrange into a single layer. Try not to overcrowd.
      • Set the timer to 8 minutes and temperature to 370 degrees F. Air fry till they turn crispy. Take them out of the air fryer carefully.

    Serving suggestions

Serve these crispy green beans straight out from the air fryer along with your favorite ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.

This better-for-you vegan and keto green beans recipe is the perfect healthy and tasty side dish, appetizer, or snack for your weeknight dinner that even the kids will enjoy.

In fact, it is so yummy that you can also add it to your holiday menu. They also make a fun after-school snack with a simple dip or as a tasty side dish for supper, or potluck.

    What pairs well with it

You can pair it with Paneer Pizza, Dabeli Pizza, any soup, burgers, sandwiches, or pretty much any dish.

    Tips, recommendations, and suggestions

This recipe is very customizable. Add toasted almonds, nutritional yeast, lemon zest, parsley, onions, etc to make it more flavorful.

If you feel the green beans are still hard after cooking, continue to cook in two-minute increments until the desired tenderness is achieved.

In general, when air frying you should keep a watchful eye on the food you are cooking for the first time. Keep cooking in increments as every air fryer is different.

Air fryer temperatures will vary depending on the make and model you have, so use the cook time as a guide only and adjust as needed.

These are similar to fries, they don’t stay crispy if not eaten immediately. Reheat the leftovers in the air fryer again for a few minutes!

Can you use frozen green beans

Yes, you can! You can either rinse the frozen beans under running cold water till they are thawed. Pat them try and use as needed.

    Bake them instead

If you don't have an air fryer, then you can also bake these crispy green beans keto chips. Prep the beans as per the recipe. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Place green bean fries on a parchment lined baking sheet. Cook for 15 minutes, then flip them. Cook for another 5-7 more minutes or until crispy.
