Let me tell you that I am a huge fan of fruit smoothies and this is my breakfast almost every other day. I enjoy picking up different seasonal fruits from the grocery store every Sunday. I then combine them to make my wholesome smoothies. That is why you will find many smoothie recipes here. I had picked up some ripe avocado and mangoes on my last trip to the Farmers market. This time I had made up my mind to prepare a tropical smoothie recipe for breakfast using these exotic fruits.

Yes, it is. Especially for people like me who hate eating fruits, I feel this is the best way for me to consume fruits. Plus, I can stay satiated on a smoothie till lunch. I do keep many things in mind to make it a healthy breakfast choice.

I love mango! It is one of my favorite fruits! This is why, at the onset of summer, I begin craving for Mango Mastani - an indulgent mango milkshake! In India, mangoes are available mainly in summer and that is why we associate this fruit with summers. But today, you can find mangoes in the frozen section and also in pulp form which makes it possible to satisfy your cravings any time of the year. While it is a naturally sweet and delicious fruit, it also has many health benefits. Here are a few of them.

What are the benefits of eating avocado?
Green Avocado is a wonder fruit. We often make Bagel Guacamole Sliders as a snack whenever we get bagels from Costco. While I have not grown up eating this superfood, I do like it today especially in smoothies. It does not just add texture to the drink but is also very healthy.

How to make this healthy mango smoothie with avocado
Whipping up a smoothie for breakfast will help you boost your metabolism first thing in the morning. Hence make the smart choice, and go make a vegan shake like this one!
Before we begin making this healthy mango smoothie, soak chia seeds in water for 10 minutes.
- In a blender
, add flax milk along with ice cubes.
- Then cut an avocado
, remove the seed and scoop out the insides. Add this to the blender.
- Next, add mango
. You can use mango pulp, fresh or frozen mango for this recipe.
- Now add the soaked chia seeds
and any sweetener of your choice. I used red pepper jam
. You can also skip adding sweetener if the mango is sweet enough. Blend until smooth.
Serve this Mango shake immediately. This is such a drink that even kids will enjoy.
Tips to make this tropical smoothie recipe
I have used flax milk to make this vegan shake, but you can use any dairy or non-dairy milk. To give your smoothies a chilled and refreshing taste, use frozen fruits. The frozen fruit just adds that cold element to make an ice-cold drink that refreshes you completely. You will need a riped green avocado to make this healthy mango smoothie. Feel free to use mango in any form. It can be ½ cup mango pulp, 1 fresh mango or ½ cup chopped frozen mango. You can also throw in a banana in this smoothie.
Adding any sweetener is a personal preference. If the mango shake is not sweet enough, then add any sweetener of your choice like maple syrup, agave, honey (if not vegan) or any fruit jam. Always serve smoothies immediately.

I didn’t have any bread for toast, so was looking for something with mango and avocado for breakfast and found this! Very delicious and smooth, but consistency was too thick to sip, so I added a lot more liquid. I think next time I’ll try water rather than the plant milk. After blending I added some frozen berries instead of ice cubes for color and a post-smoothie treat. Thank you!
