    Breakfast, Coffee, and Creamer!

September is National Breakfast Month and to celebrate this important occasion, a2 Milk® is launching its coffee creamer in two delicious flavors:  Sweet Cream and Creamy Vanilla! If you've been following me on Instagram, you've most likely seen the Instagram Live Video I did, of picking up these creamers at Sprouts Farmer's Market. Now, you're probably thinking, what's the big deal? I mean, this is creamer we're talking about - they've been around for some time now. Allow me to explain. A couple of months ago, a2 Milk® reached out to us to do a promotion. When we tried a2 milk consistently for a couple of weeks we realized we felt none of the discomfort or bloating we normally felt when consuming dairy. We've been hooked onto this brand of milk ever since! So when a2 Milk® reached out to me asking if I would be interested in trying their new creamer in a recipe, I was naturally, most delighted to do so. For this recipe, I decided to create a coffee-based drink for National Coffee Day which falls on September 29th. Here was a golden opportunity to make a fall-themed coffee drink that I could share with my readers!

    a2 Milk® - What's the Deal?

Ordinary cows’ milk contains a mix of A1 and A2 protein types.  a2 Milk® is prepared from the milk of cows that naturally produce only the A2 protein and no A1.  Published research suggests that a2 Milk® may help avoid stomach discomfort in some people. On their website, a2 Milk® claims that their cows are not treated with the growth hormone rBST. In addition, the website also says that their cows are fed a plant-based diet. Cows in India also provide milk with A1 protein. So it is possible that regular A1 protein-based milk may cause discomfort to Indians who live here in the US, and that drinking A2 protein-based milk may help. We're not making any claims here, but if you are experiencing any sort of discomfort with your current dairy product, why not try a2 Milk®, you have nothing to lose?! The new creamer that has just been launched is delicious and only has 5 simple ingredients.  The creamers are made with a2 Milk® and cream which means that they’re easier on digestion and may help some people avoid discomfort! In fact, here's a coupon for you, why not make use of it?  If you do try it, do let me know how you liked it.

Crunchy leaves, Cozy knits, and Pumpkins - Fall!

It was on my agenda to create a fall-themed drink that one could serve on Halloween, Thanksgiving, or even Christmas. After all, it’s important to honor the seasons changing with a proper drink in hand. I decided to brew a coffee beverage that could rival (if not surpass) even a prominent chain like Starbucks. With Halloween nearing, the time of the Pumpkin is nigh!  I settled on making a Pumpkin flavored spiced Latte. This drink turned out to be really delicious with flavors perfect for this time of year. Not to mention making it at home was very convenient.  So let's get into Autumn mode with this cozy fall drink! Whether you like your coffee super sweet, black, or spicy, you'll definitely enjoy this amazing coffee recipe!

Forget Starbucks, make it at home instead!

The recipe to make Pumpkin flavored Spiced Latte is super easy. In a pan pour a2 Milk® Creamer. I have used the Sweet Cream flavor for this recipe. Then add some a2 Milk® to the pan. I have used whole milk here. Turn on the flame. Add pumpkin puree and sugar, then give it a good stir. Cook this on a medium flame for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare the spice mix. Add nutmeg powder, cinnamon powder, and ginger powder in a small bowl. Mix it all together. Add 2 teaspoon of this spice mix to the pan along with vanilla extract. Stir and continue to cook it for 2 more minutes. Meanwhile, fill a mug with water and heat it in the microwave for a minute. Add instant coffee powder to it and mix it till it dissolves completely. Pour this coffee into the pan. Mix it in and bring the mixture to a boil. Take it off the flame. Pour in serving glasses, top it with whipped cream and garnish it with the prepared spice mix. Serve warm or chilled.

    Spice mix

    • 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder
    • 1 tablespoon nutmeg powder
    • 1 tablespoon ginger powder

    Instructions

    • Then add a2 Milk to the pan. I have used whole milk here. Turn on the flame.
    • Add pumpkin puree and sugar, then give it a good stir. Cook this on medium flame for 5 minutes.
    • Meanwhile prepare the spice mix. Add nutmeg powder, cinnamon powder and ginger powder in a small bowl. Mix it all together.

    • Mix it in and bring the mixture to a boil. Take it off the flame.
    • Pour in serving glasses, top it with whipped cream and garnish it with the prepared spice mix. Serve warm or chilled.

    Notes

The spice mix can be stored in an airtight container. It stays good for months.
You can add coconut sugar instead of regular sugar for a different flavor.
I have used canned pumpkin puree, you can make it fresh too.
Skip the whipped cream if you want to keep it light.
I prefer roast coffee, but espresso fans, go wild! 🙂
