Fresh Guava & Watermelon Mocktail is the best light & fruity non-boozy drink ever! All you need is 5 ingredients! Totally kid-friendly for family picnics!
Now that winter is officially gone (hope you got the GOT reference here) and summer is here, it's time to start planning picnics, outdoor parties, pool parties, day trips and family brunches. Aah, I am so looking forward to that! I love it when we have friends over and all of us are just lazying around the house with no real agenda on a weekend and the kids are playing in the backyard. It's a day well spent when the conversations are easy, funny and chilled out, there is lots of food moving around and Alexa is playing old Bollywood music! In fact, KR gifted me a new Karaoke system for my birthday this year which we cannot wait to inaugurate at our next house party! As a group we enjoy doing things together with the whole family for most occasions. We don't mind the chatter of the kids or the noisy guys watching a game or we girls indulging in some harmless gossip! We love it all as long as there is great food and wine around to keep the party going. We often go for Potluck parties but I personally don't like to host a potluck. Since I love to cook it all, I don't really enjoy hosting a potluck party. But I do participate in such parties and bring in my share of food for all. You see, I am the happiest when I am cooking for a crowd. 🙂
I like to bring in an appetizer and dessert mostly as I feel I can do full justice to these two dishes at any party! For the last party we had, I had made Semolina Vegetable Bites and for the one before that, I had made Fried Besan (Chickpea Flour) & Potato Squares and both were a super hit! It was all gone within minutes and mind you, I had made a big batch. For desserts, I have made No-Churn Rose Gulkand Ice Cream and 4-Ingredient Coconut Chocolate Dairy-Free Ice Cream in the recent times and they both were well received. It's always a good sign when you go back home with empty containers from a potluck party! The sheer joy on their faces when they taste something delicious and then the compliments that follow, is the best part of cooking for someone. We were hosting a baby shower for one of our girlfriend and this time I took up appetizer, dessert and a drink to bring to the party. Since we were going to have lots of kids and elderly, I wanted to create an appetizing welcome drink that catered to all ages. I thereby chose to make Fresh Guava & Watermelon Mocktail because why not! Everyone loves watermelon as its so refreshing and guavas are good for you. If you want to know why, keep reading.

Like watermelon, Guava too is low in calories and fats and carries several vital vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants needed for the body. This fruit is a very rich source of soluble dietary fiber which makes it a good bulk laxative. Watermelon on the other hand has a high water content. This makes it hydrating and helps you feel full. Its also said that Watermelon juice has some potential as a recovery beverage after exercise and they are good for your hair and skin. Knowing all these facts about these two wonderful fruits, why would someone not want to drink this? The recipe to make Fresh Guava & Watermelon Non Boozy Summer Drink is super easy and can be made within minutes if you have all the 5 ingredients handy. But you can always add a little something to spike your drink! I like to make this drink in two parts. First prepare the watermelon juice. Add watermelon chunks, black salt and lemon juice along with water in a blender and blitz it to make juice. Pour this in serving glasses that already contains ice cubes. Next add guava pieces along with water, black salt and paprika to the blender and make juice. Pour this over the watermelon juice. Don't mix it, the color contrast makes it even more appealing. Serve it chilled.
